Naked Burger Taco

That’s right...naked...meaning there’s no tortilla shell soft or crunchy!  Just a decadent taco seasoned burger layered with all kinds of goodness.

1 ½ lbs. Ground chuck

3 teaspoons taco seasoning

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup Mayonnaise

2 Tablespoons Mustard

⅓ cup My Brother’s Hatch Green Chile Salsa/House -  and more for serving

2 cups lettuce, chopped - divide onto four plates

8 oz. cheddar cheese, shredded

2 ripe avocados, sliced

¼ cup onion, diced

1 can black beans, rinsed and drained

Fresh cilantro, chopped

In small mixing bowl whisk together, mayo, mustard, salsa.  Cover and refrigerate while you prepare and cook the burgers.

In mixing bowl gently combine ground chuck with taco seasoning and salt.  Shape into four patties and make indentation with your thumb in middle of each.  On medium hot griddle (I actually use a griddle that fits onto my outdoor grill but can be done inside) cook taco burgers to desired doneness - turning only once in order to get a nice sear on each side.

Assemble taco burgers by placing cooked burger on a bed of lettuce.  Top burger with even amounts of  sauce, cheese, avocado, onion, beans, cilantro.  Serve with additional chips and salsa.  Yummy and a nice way to shake up Taco Tuesday!
