Game Day Table

The big "Game Day" is almost here and what everyone is talking about before AND after the game is the food!  Here are a few "must haves" when you gather your peeps!  

Salsa con American Queso  (yield 4 cups)

Real American cheese brings velvety goodness to this creamy dip.

16 oz. white American cheese, cut into 1 inch cubes (White American cheese is found at the deli counter)

4oz. Monterey or Pepper Jack cheese, cut into 1 inch cubes

2 Tbs. butter

2/3 cup whole milk

1 cup My Brother’s Salsa – choose from Original, House, New Mexican Green Chile or Fire Roasted varieties

Optional garnish:  additional salsa,  chopped cilantro, scallions, or red onion.

In medium sauce pan add all ingredients.  Over low heat, stirring occasionally, heat until all cheese melts.  Garnish. Serve hot with warm My Brother’s Corn Tortilla Chips or use as a cheese sauce on burgers, enchiladas, tacos, grilled meats.  


For Shrimp:

1 1/2 lbs. large shrimp, fresh (if using frozen, thaw)

1/2 cup olive oil


1/2 cup My Brother's Original Recipe or Cucumber Tomato Salsa

1 tsp. sea salt

2 lemons (slice one, one for juice)
1 small red onion sliced
For Dipping Sauce:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/3 cup My Brother's Original or Cucumber Tomato Salsa
salt to taste
Cook shrimp in boiling water for 2-3 minutes til it "pinks" up.  Drain.  Remove shells and devein, leaving tails on.  Whisk together olive oil, juice of 1 lemon, salt and salsa. Place shrimp in large zip top bag or airtight container.  Pour olive oil/salsa mixture over shrimp. Add slices of lemon and onion.  Toss it to coat all the shrimp.  Keep in refrigerator for 24 hours.  To serve, layer shrimp in serving dish spacing lemon slices and onion rings throughout.  Garnish with freshly chopped cilantro.  Serve with dipping sauce. Dipping sauce:  Blend mayo, salsa and salt.  Refrigerate until ready to serve.






Never Fail Wings & Dipping Sauces (yield 24 wings)

Marinated in a simple brine of olive oil and salt these wings come out delicious every time.  Set the table with a variety of sauces and the wings will be the first thing to disappear!

For Wings:

24 Chicken wings

2 Tbls. olive oil

1 Tbls. kosher salt

½ tsp. freshly ground pepper.

Rinse and pat dry chicken wings.  Place in a zip top bag.  Add olive oil, salt & pepper. Close bag.  Massage wings so that all are marinating in oil and salt.  Place in refrigerator 2 hours to overnight.  Cook  either: 1)on hot grill about 20 min. until wings are cooked through and starting to crisp up or 2) in 400* oven 20-25 min on large baking sheet – turning to cook evenly.  Serve hot with dipping sauces.

For Sauces:

Blue Cheese Sauce:  In small bowl mix 1 cup mayo, 4 oz. blue cheese (use block form and crumble) 2 Tbls. My Brother’s Original Hot SalsaRefrigerate until ready to use.

Spicy Horseradish Sauce:  In small bowl mix ½  cup My Brother’s Original Salsa and 1 Tbls. Horseradish.  Refrigerate until ready to use.

Peach Tomatillo Sauce:  My Brother’s Peach Tomatillo Salsa – pour straight out of the jar and serve!

Cranberry Orange Sauce:  My Brother’s Cranberry Orange Salsa – pour straight out of the jar and serve!


Steakhouse Sliders (yield 8 -10 sliders)These steakhouse style sliders are hearty bites of goodness sure to make your guests swoon and clamor for more!

1 lb. flank steak or rib eye

My Brother’s Original Salsa, med or hot

Kosher salt

Olive oil

8-10 slider buns, halved horizontally – buttered & toasted

leaf lettuce

red onion, thinly sliced

fresh garnish:  cherry tomato, pickle or olive

My Brother’s Salsa Blue Cheese Sauce (recipe follows)

Brush steak with olive oil, My Brother’s Original Salsa and generously season with salt.  Let stand at room temp for 30 min.  Cook on medium hot grill to desired doneness.  Cover with foil, let rest 10 min.  Slice diagonally thin slices. On toasted bun layer lettuce, steak, Blue Cheese Sauce, onion.  Garnish.  Serve immediately.

My Brother’s Blue Cheese Sauce (also can be used for wing sauce)

1 cup Mayo

4 oz. blue cheese (block style not crumbled)

2 Tbls. My Brother’s Original Hot Salsa
